MET(T)A is a new and innovative way to envision and implement Addictions treatment that is grounded in the well researched 30 year old theory and practice of EMDR therapy. This approach leans heavily upon the incredible work of those who have explored the use of EMDR therapy with PTSD, addictions and a whole host of issues, and upon the obvious and deep need for trauma resolution to be a focus of sustainable long term recovery.

ABOUT

The Mindfulness and EMDR Treatment Template for Agencies, MET(T)A Protocol, is a comprehensive, trauma-focused treatment system from which to run treatment centers, agencies, and private/group practices.

This protocol aids in case conceptualization of individual cases in any treatment setting, provides a base for trauma-focused treatment, and provides a catalyst and format for taking trauma-informed care one step further into trauma-focused treatment. It helps EMDR Therapy Clinicians fully leverage the power of Mindfulness-based EMDR Therapy as a complete psychotherapy.

MET(T)A is a new and innovative way to envision and implement mental health treatment that is grounded in the over 30 years of research, theory and practice of EMDR Therapy, as well as the 2,600 years of research, theory and practice of Buddhist psychology and Mindfulness. It honors the current belief that there is a deep need for trauma resolution to be a key focus of treatment in order to strengthen relapse prevention and create sustainable long-term recovery and healing.

The MET(T)A Protocol is based on the premise that integrating Mindfulness and EMDR Therapy represents best practice for providing trauma resolution, and adaptive trauma resolution represents the best outcome for people suffering from mental and emotional health issues.

Treatment Centers and Group Practices who employ the MET(T)A PROTOCOL are top-tier treatment providers who understand the need for trauma-focused care. Centers who become accredited MET(T)A Protocol programs receive these benefits:
